Important Tips

  • Seat the pillows, then bring the strap over. Ease both openings into your nostrils (no fingernails), hold the frame and pull the Brevida-marked strap over your head, then open the upper and lower straps so they sit securely.
  • Check the fit with air flowing, not by pulling the straps. With the Micro 510 on, the seal should inflate and its openings should not fold inward. If air escapes, lift and reseat the seal; secure, not tight.
  • On the FitPack, try the fitted XS-S seal first. Move to the included M-L seal if leaks or discomfort persist, and keep a spare in your size: Brevida AirPillow replacement seals.
  • If breathing in does not start therapy, press power. SleepStart may not trigger with every mask setup, so the power button is the dependable way to begin.
  • Lower half of the HME adapter on the hose, upper half on the Brevida. Handle the cartridge by its casing, not the foam, and discard it after 3 to 7 days of use: AirMist replacement cartridges.
  • Dry daily, wash weekly, replace every three months. Use the 30-minute dry cycle after therapy. Wash the hose, muffler and HME adapter in mild detergent and distilled water; the Micro 510 WhisperSoft muffler kit replaces the muffler and hose together.
  • Check the air filter weekly. Replace it about every two weeks, sooner if it looks dirty (hypoallergenic: every two weeks even if clean). Original Micro PureFresh filters are not compatible: Micro 510 hypoallergenic filters or Micro 510 woven filters.
  • Hand-wash the Brevida after each use, the headgear and diffuser weekly. Soap in lukewarm water, a soak of 10 minutes at most, then dry out of direct sun. Never put it in the dishwasher or clean it with products containing alcohol, bleach or moisturizer.
  • Swap worn parts before a long trip. Replace the mask within 12 months of first use, or sooner if a part cracks, discolors or tears. Worn straps or a cracked clip? We stock the Brevida headgear and the headgear clips as separate parts.
  • Flying? Call your airline before you book. Carry the FAA letter, keep Bluetooth off in the air, and ask about advance notice and battery rules. Our guide to flying with a CPAP machine walks you through airport screening.
  • Traveling abroad? Bring a plug adapter only. The AC adapter handles 100 to 240 V by itself. Check whether yours is a PSA4 or PSA5 model against the Transcend Micro travel adapters listing before you buy.

Which Brevida option should I choose: XS-S, M-L or FitPack?

Choose a single size if you already wear the Brevida and know your seal. Choose the FitPack if you are new to it or unsure: the mask comes with the XS-S seal fitted and a spare M-L seal, and you switch if leaks or discomfort persist. The single-size options include one seal only, and the headgear is one size for everyone.

Do I need the WhisperSoft muffler with the Brevida?

No, it is optional. The Micro 510 runs with the hose attached straight to the machine or with the WhisperSoft Micro Muffler in between, which lowers airflow sound further. At the mask, the Brevida diffuser softens the exhaust draft.

Is the original Transcend Micro with Brevida bundle the same mask for less?

The mask is the same F&P Brevida; the machine is what differs. The Micro 510 offers four colors and a 3-year warranty instead of 2, and its box adds a hard shell case and an AirMist HME; the FitPack is an extra mask option in this bundle. The original bundle costs less. Size, sound level, pressure range and in-flight use match on both machines.

Should I pick this or the Micro 510 bundle with the F&P Nova Micro?

Each bundle combines the Micro 510 with a Fisher & Paykel nasal pillow mask. The Brevida uses an AirPillow seal in two sizes, XS-S and M-L, with a washable diffuser and one-size headgear. The Nova Micro comes with Small, Medium or Large pillows, and its FitPack holds all three sizes.

Can I use the Brevida without its diffuser?

Yes. The Brevida works with or without the diffuser. The diffuser spreads out the air leaving the mask to reduce draft and noise without significantly changing airflow. Hand-wash it weekly in soap and lukewarm water.

Which Brevida parts will I replace, and how often?

The Brevida is good for up to 12 months from first use; retire any part sooner once it cracks, tears or changes color. AirPillow seals come in XS-S and M-L, and the headgear and headgear clips are sold on their own. Machine parts such as filters and the hose follow the schedule in the Micro 510 user manual.
