Important Tips

  • Size first, or try all three. Print the Vitera size guide in the guides section to choose Small, Medium or Large; the FitPack includes all three seals. Spare Vitera headgear comes in Small or Medium-Large.
  • Keep the Vitera clean between stops. Hand wash the mask in lukewarm, mildly soapy water after every use, never soaking it longer than 10 minutes, and wash the headgear once it has had 7 days of use.
  • Plan a fresh Vitera within a year. Retire the mask no later than 12 months after first use. If the seal wears out sooner, a replacement Vitera cushion keeps the rest of the mask in service.
  • Count on a new AirMist every few nights. Each opened cartridge is good for 3 to 7 days and is never washed, so bring spare AirMist replacement cartridges on longer trips.
  • Muffler, hose, HME, mask. That is the order: muffler on the machine outlet, TransFlex hose on the muffler, then the AirMist, with its bottom end on the hose and its top end on the Vitera.
  • Keep 510 parts on schedule. Filters last two weeks; the HME adapter, hose and muffler last three months. The original Micro's PureFresh filters will not fit, so stock Micro 510 woven filters or 510 hypoallergenic ones.
  • No auto start? Press Power. SleepStart may not respond with every mask, and in the air the Power button is how you begin each session.
  • Traveling abroad or off grid? The boxed power adapter takes 100 to 240 V, so overseas you usually just need a plug adapter, sold separately. The Micro 510 carries no internal battery; for camping or outages, a PowerAway battery (sold separately) lasts up to 17.5 hours per charge in most cases, fewer with higher pressure, high altitude or mask leak.
  • Want a soft bag for the mask and hose? Add our SleepPak travel bag for a soft carry option; it is sold separately.

Is the 510 worth it over our original Micro Vitera bundle?

It comes down to the machine and its box. The Vitera mask is the same in both bundles, but the Micro 510 brings three years of machine warranty instead of two, a box that adds a hard shell case plus the AirMist HME, a TransFlex hose, 510-only air filters, four colors and the Vitera FitPack option. Both machines match on dimensions (3.6 x 3.6 x 2.4 in), pressure range, app support and in-flight use, and our original Micro Vitera bundle costs less.

Should I get the Vitera FitPack or a single seal size?

Go with a single Small, Medium or Large seal if you already wear a Vitera or have measured with the printable size guide in the guides section. The FitPack suits a first full face mask: it brings all three seals so you can compare them at home.

Will the Vitera headgear feel hot at night?

F&P makes it from VentiCool, a breathable fabric. In F&P internal testing it allowed at least 21 times more airflow and 35% more moisture transfer than the headgear of its leading full face masks. Wash it after 7 days of use.

How do I take the Vitera off when I get up during the night?

Rotate one headgear clip downward and it unhooks from the frame, so you can lift the mask away. Hook the clip back onto the frame when you return to bed.

Can I leave the Micro 510 in a cold car before bedtime?

Bring it inside first. The Micro 510 is made to run between 41 and 95 F, and after storage in heat or cold it needs one hour to reach room temperature before you start therapy.

Which Vitera parts are sold separately?

The seal and the headgear. Seals come in Small, Medium and Large; headgear comes in Small or Medium-Large, so you can refresh a worn seal or change the strap size and keep the frame. The elbow stays permanently attached to the frame and is not meant to be removed at home.

Is the Vitera made with latex or DEHP?

No. F&P does not make the Vitera mask with natural rubber latex or DEHP. It is a single-patient mask for home use, and F&P covers it with a 90-day warranty.
