Overview

The ResMed AirFit F30i is an under-the-nose full face CPAP mask with a silicone cushion and a tube that connects at the top of your head instead of at your chin. It covers your nose and mouth, runs at therapy pressures of 4 to 30 cm H2O, and ships as a complete system in three frame sizes (Small, Standard, Large) and four cushion sizes (Small, Small-Wide, Medium, Wide).

Because the tube sits above your head, it stays clear whether you sleep on your back, side, or stomach, and the UltraCompact cushion seals under your nose instead of over the bridge, so glasses, reading, and TV before bed are not blocked. The lower headgear clips are magnetic for a quick, secure fit (see the safety note in the FAQs if you or a bed partner has an implanted medical device).

The AirFit F30i, AirTouch F30i, and AirFit X30i share the same tube-up frame, so you can switch to a fabric-covered cushion or a hybrid nasal-and-mouth seal later without buying a new frame. We carry the cushion, frame, and headgear separately, and our full AirFit F30i review covers fit and comfort in more depth. A valid prescription is required; compare it against the rest of our full face masks if you are still deciding.

Guide and Resources

Important Tips

  • Practice putting on and adjusting the mask while you're awake, including a few minutes of normal breathing, so the fit and airflow feel familiar before you rely on it overnight.
  • Adjust the straps evenly so the mask feels snug but not tight. Over-tightening deforms the cushion and causes leaks instead of stopping them.
  • Route the tubing over the top of your head. This is what makes the F30i work well for side sleepers and anyone who tosses and turns overnight.
  • If you breathe through your mouth, check that the cushion seals fully under your nose and around your mouth before you fall asleep, and reposition it if you feel air escaping.
  • This mask uses magnets in the frame and lower headgear clips. Keep the magnets at least 6 inches (150 mm) from pacemakers, defibrillators, neurostimulators, and other implanted or metallic medical devices, both yours and a bed partner's. See the FAQs below for full guidance.
  • Clean the cushion daily with CPAP mask wipes to keep oils and residue from building up on the silicone.
  • Wash the frame and headgear weekly with mild soap and warm water, then air dry away from direct sunlight.
  • Clean the inside of the tubing weekly with a CPAP tube brush set to keep bacteria from building up.
  • Run a UVC LED CPAP cleaner over the mask and headgear between washes for a deeper clean.
  • Use a CPAP-friendly moisturizer before putting on the mask to help prevent red marks and skin irritation.
  • Add CPAP strap covers if the headgear marks your cheeks. They cushion the strap without changing the fit.
  • Replace the cushion, frame, and headgear on a regular cycle instead of waiting for them to visibly wear out. See our replacement schedule guide for how often.
  • Pair the mask with a heated humidifier on your CPAP machine to cut down on dryness and make the seal more comfortable.
  • Store the mask in a dry, dust-free spot out of direct sunlight so the cushion and headgear hold their shape longer.
  • Check your myAir app for leak reports and reposition the mask if it flags leaks overnight.

Everything you need to know about the AirFit F30i

Sleep in Any Position

The hose connects at the top of your head instead of your chin, so it will not pull or tangle if you sleep on your side, stomach, or back. A 360-degree swivel keeps the tubing moving with you through the night.

Fewer Touch-Points on Your Face

The cushion sits under your nose instead of over the bridge, so you are less likely to wake up with red marks or a view blocked by the mask. Read, wear glasses, or watch TV before you fall asleep.

On and Off in Seconds

Magnetic clips on the lower headgear snap into place for a fast, secure fit. Removing the mask to grab water or adjust in the dark takes seconds, not fumbling with buckles.
ResMed AirFit F30i Full Face CPAP Mask

Works With AirSense 10 and AirSense 11

The F30i uses a standard 22 mm hose connection, so it pairs with the AirSense 10 and AirSense 11 CPAP and BiPAP machines. It is not compatible with the AirMini, which uses a different, proprietary hose system.

One Frame, Three Masks

The SpringFit frame on the AirFit F30i also fits the AirFit X30i, so switching to a hybrid nasal-and-mouth seal later does not mean buying a new frame.

Silicone, Not the Fabric AirTouch Cushion

The AirFit F30i uses an all-silicone UltraCompact cushion. If you would rather have the softer, fabric-covered ComfiSoft cushion on the same frame, the AirTouch F30i is built on the same platform. Compare both in our AirTouch vs. AirFit guide.

Cushion and Frame Sizes to Match Your Face

Cushions come in Small, Small-Wide, Medium, and Wide. Frames come in Small, Standard, and Large, so you can mix and match to fit your face shape instead of relying on one size.

What's in the Box

The Complete System ships pre-assembled: the SpringFit frame, an UltraCompact silicone cushion, plush fabric headgear with magnetic clips, and a quick-release elbow, all in the sizes you select.

Quiet Enough to Share a Bed

The QuietAir vent diffuses exhaled air instead of releasing it in one noisy stream, so it is easier on a partner sleeping next to you. Most people notice the CPAP machine hum more than the mask.

Know the Magnet Safety Guidelines

The frame and lower headgear clips use magnets. If you or a bed partner has a pacemaker, defibrillator, or another implanted medical device, review the safety distance in the FAQs below before use.

Cleaning and Replacement

Wipe the silicone cushion daily and wash the frame and headgear weekly to keep the seal reliable. As a general guideline, plan to replace the cushion monthly, the frame every few months, and the headgear roughly twice a year.

FAQs

Do I need a prescription to buy this mask?

Yes. The AirFit F30i is a Class II medical device, and a valid CPAP prescription is required to purchase it in the United States.

What comes in the box?

The Complete System ships with the frame, an UltraCompact silicone cushion, plush fabric headgear with magnetic clips, and a quick-release elbow, all pre-assembled in the sizes you select.

Which CPAP machines does the AirFit F30i work with?

The AirFit F30i uses a standard 22 mm hose connection, so it works with the ResMed AirSense 10 and AirSense 11 CPAP and BiPAP machines. It is not compatible with the AirMini, which uses a different, proprietary hose.

How is the AirFit F30i different from the AirTouch F30i?

They share the same tube-up SpringFit frame and headgear. The AirFit F30i uses an all-silicone UltraCompact cushion, while the AirTouch F30i uses a softer, fabric-covered ComfiSoft cushion. Both cushions fit the same frame, so you can switch between them.

Does the frame fit other ResMed masks?

Yes. The SpringFit frame on the AirFit F30i also fits the AirTouch F30i and the AirFit X30i, so the platform gives you a comfort or hybrid option without changing frames.

What cushion and frame sizes does it come in?

Cushion sizes are Small, Small-Wide, Medium, and Wide. Frame sizes are Small, Standard, and Large. A Fit Pack with multiple cushion sizes is also available if you want to test the fit before settling on one.

Does the AirFit F30i have magnets?

Yes. Magnets with a field strength up to 400 mT are built into the frame and the lower headgear clips. Do not use this mask if you have a metallic hemostatic or aneurysm clip implanted in your head, or a metallic splinter in one or both eyes. If you or anyone who sleeps close to you has a pacemaker, defibrillator, neurostimulator, CSF shunt, insulin pump, or other implanted or ferromagnetic metallic device, keep the magnets at least 6 inches (150 mm) away and talk to your doctor before use. If you would rather avoid magnets altogether, see our full face masks without magnets at /collections/full-face-cpap-masks-without-magnets.

Is the AirFit F30i good for side sleepers?

Yes. The tubing connects at the top of the head instead of the front of the face, with a 360-degree swivel elbow, so it stays out of the way on your side, stomach, or back.

Can I use it if I have a beard or mustache?

It can work, but thick facial hair right along the seal line under the nose and around the mouth can cause air leaks. Trimming close to the seal area helps most users get a tighter fit.

What pressure range does it support?

The AirFit F30i is rated for therapy pressures of 4 to 30 cm H2O, which covers the range used by most CPAP, APAP, and BiPAP prescriptions.

Is this mask FSA/HSA eligible?

Yes. The AirFit F30i qualifies for FSA and HSA funds as a prescribed medical device.

How do I clean it?

Wipe the silicone cushion daily with mild soap and water or CPAP mask wipes. Wash the frame and headgear weekly with mild soap and warm water, then air dry away from direct sunlight.

How often should I replace the cushion, frame, and headgear?

As a general guideline, replace the cushion about once a month, the frame every three months, and the headgear every six months. Replacing parts on this cycle keeps the seal consistent and prevents leaks caused by worn silicone or stretched straps.
