CPAP Cleaning Machines

A CPAP cleaning machine helps you keep your mask, tubing, and water chamber fresh between washes. The units we carry work in different ways, so we group them by the actual technology instead of lumping them together. None of them replace a regular wash with warm water and mild, fragrance-free soap; they are a between-wash step.

Shop CPAP cleaning machines by technology

UV-C light units (ozone-free)

The React Health Lumin and the Liviliti Paptizer use UV-C light to reduce surface microbes, and they produce no ozone. UV-C treats surfaces it can reach, so it does not clean the inside of tubing. Pair it with a wash.

Ozone (activated oxygen) units

The Nuwave Travel and Nuwave Plus use activated oxygen (ozone) inside a sealed bag or chamber. Let the equipment air out per the manual before you wear it.

Water and citric-acid washer

The CSpring RediClean washes accessories with warm water and food-grade citric acid. CSpring positions it as a washer, not a disinfectant, so use it to clean and follow your CPAP maker's guidance for the rest.

Cleaning tool

The CSpring DeepClean Wand is a rechargeable brush wand that scrubs the water chamber by hand. It is a cleaning tool, not a sanitizer, and it is easy to pack for travel.

How often to clean your CPAP

Rinse the mask cushion daily, and wash the mask, tubing, and water chamber weekly with warm water and mild, fragrance-free soap. Clean more often if you have a cold. A cleaning machine is a between-wash step, not a substitute for the weekly wash.

How a machine fits your routine

These units reduce surface microbes or wash parts, but they do not remove oils and residue on their own. For the hands-on side, shop soaps, wipes, and brushes in our CPAP Cleaning Supplies hub, and keep distilled water on hand for your humidifier chamber.

How to choose

Match the unit to how you clean today. Check what fits inside (a full mask plus hose, or accessories only), the cycle time, whether you need a travel size, and your CPAP brand's instructions for UV or ozone cleaning. If you want a side-by-side of the popular picks, read our guide to the best CPAP cleaners.

FAQs

What types of CPAP cleaning machines can I buy?

They are not all the same technology. We carry UV-C light sanitizers (the React Health Lumin and Liviliti Paptizer), ozone or activated-oxygen units (Nuwave Travel and Nuwave Plus), a warm-water and citric-acid washer (CSpring RediClean), and a rechargeable cleaning wand (CSpring DeepClean Wand). We group them by how they actually work so you can match one to your routine.

Are CPAP cleaning machines FDA-cleared?

In its 2020 Safety Communication the FDA noted that no ozone or UV-light device is FDA-cleared to clean, disinfect, or sanitize CPAP equipment. We list these units as cleaning aids, not as a replacement for the cleaning method your CPAP maker recommends.

What is the difference between UV-C and ozone cleaners?

UV-C units use ultraviolet light to reduce microbes on surfaces they can reach and make no ozone, so there is no venting step. Ozone units use activated oxygen (ozone) that fills a bag or chamber and needs to air out before you wear the equipment.

Does the RediClean disinfect my CPAP?

CSpring describes the RediClean as a washer that uses warm water and food-grade citric acid, and does not claim it disinfects or sanitizes. Use it to wash your accessories and follow your CPAP maker's guidance for cleaning.

Do these machines replace washing by hand?

No. They reduce surface microbes or wash parts, but most CPAP makers recommend warm water with mild, fragrance-free soap for the mask, tubing, and water chamber. Use a machine as a between-wash step.

How often should I clean my CPAP?

Rinse the mask cushion daily, and wash the mask, tubing, and water chamber weekly, or more often if you are sick. A cleaning machine is a between-wash step, not a substitute for the weekly wash.

Which units are best for travel?

The Nuwave Travel and the DeepClean Wand are compact for trips. Larger home units like the Liviliti Paptizer, Nuwave Plus, and RediClean are built to handle a full mask and hose at home.

Will a machine work with my ResMed or Philips CPAP?

Check your CPAP maker's instructions before using a UV or ozone cleaner. Some makers limit these methods, and running unsupported parts through a unit can speed up wear on seals and tubing.

Are CPAP cleaning machines FSA or HSA eligible?

Many qualify as eligible expenses when used to maintain prescribed sleep apnea therapy, but coverage varies by plan. Check with your FSA or HSA administrator.
