Important Tips

  • Fit the F20 connector first. Press the side buttons to release the AirTouch F20 elbow, click the F20 connector into the frame, then push on the AirMini tubing. The machine side is covered in our guide on how to set up your ResMed AirMini.
  • Use HumidX F20, never standard HumidX. It attaches to the inside of the AirTouch F20 cushion for waterless humidification. It is not washable, so plan on a new one after 30 days of use.
  • Read this if you have an implant. The AirTouch F20 frame and lower headgear clips hold magnets. ResMed lists two groups of contraindicated implants. Active implants that interact with magnets: pacemakers, implantable defibrillators, neurostimulators, CSF shunts, and insulin or infusion pumps. Metallic implants with ferromagnetic material: aneurysm clips or flow disruption devices, embolic coils, stents, valves, electrodes, hearing or balance implants with magnets, ocular implants and metal splinters in the eye. If either applies to you, or to anyone in close physical contact while you use the mask, do not use the AirTouch F20. Any other implant or magnet-sensitive medical device needs the magnets kept at least 6 inches (150 mm) away; check with your physician and the device maker first. The clips may separate during sleep. Never take the mask into an MRI room, since it is MR unsafe.
  • Never rinse the memory foam cushion. It needs no daily cleaning. If needed, wipe the outside with CPAP wipes or similar alcohol-free wipes, keep it out of direct sunlight and discard it if it gets submerged. Replace it every month with a new AirTouch F20 cushion.
  • Daily and weekly washing. Every day, clean the frame, elbow and F20 connector; every week, the headgear and AirMini tubing. Use warm water with mild liquid detergent and let everything air dry out of direct sunlight. Ozone and UV cleaners are not validated for this mask. Replacement F20 headgear is sold separately.
  • Put travel parts on a 6-month clock. The F20 connector, AirMini tubing and AirMini filter each need replacing at least every 6 months; since the filter is not washable, a dirty one gets replaced early.
  • Turn on airplane mode before you fly. Airplane mode takes one button: with the AirMini on aircraft power, hold the Bluetooth button for at least 10 seconds until the light is white. Leave the AirMini app unused during the flight and begin therapy from the Start/Stop button. Bring a printout of the ResMed travel compliance letter from Guide and Resources and check your airline's rules before the trip; flying with a CPAP machine has more.
  • Power it away from outlets. There is no battery inside the AirMini. On a negative-ground 12 V or 24 V system, the AirMini DC converter runs it (ResMed recommends a deep cycle battery, and the converter is not for aircraft use). ResMed lists no battery for the AirMini, so pick one whose maker states AirMini compatibility; compare picks in our best CPAP batteries guide.
  • Pad it for the trip. The AirMini ships in a drawstring bag; our AirMini accessories add cases and bags with more protection.
  • Prescription first. Your AirMini and AirTouch F20 ship once we have a valid CPAP prescription on file; both are intended for patients who weigh more than 66 lb (30 kg).

Can I wash the AirTouch F20 foam cushion?

No. Never rinse or submerge it. The UltraSoft memory foam cushion needs no daily cleaning: if needed, wipe the outside with CPAP wipes or similar alcohol-free wipes and let it dry. Keep it away from household cleaning products, cleaning devices and direct sunlight, discard it if it gets submerged, and replace the cushion every month.
