The AirCurve 11 VAuto gives you a higher pressure when you breathe in and a lower one when you breathe out, and it adjusts automatically through the night.

We paired it with the ResMed AirTouch F40, a minimalist full face mask with a soft fabric cushion that sits under your nose. Nothing presses on your nasal bridge, the padded frame curves below your eyes, and the short tube moves with you when you turn over.

Important Tips

  • Leave the bilevel settings to your provider. In VAuto mode EPAP runs from 3 to 25 cmH2O and IPAP from 4 to 25 cmH2O, with a fixed pressure support between them. Your provider configures these from your prescription; they are not meant to be self-adjusted on the AirCurve 11 VAuto.
  • Switch Climate Control to Manual with heated tubing. This bundle ships with standard tubing. If you add the ClimateLineAir 11 heated tube, change Climate Control from Auto to Manual to reach the humidity level setting.
  • Select Pillows on the AirCurve 11. Set the mask type to 'Pillows' for the AirTouch F40. It is a full face mask, but Pillows is the setting that matches it. The mask is rated for therapy pressures from 4 to 30 cmH2O, and your provider sets your prescribed pressures.
  • Keep ozone and UV cleaners away from the mask. They have not been validated for the AirTouch F40 and may discolor or damage it. Hand wash the cushion daily without a bristle brush, and the headgear and frame weekly.
  • Reorder mask parts by part, not by date of purchase. The ComfiSoft cushion is due every month, the frame system every 3 months and the F40 headgear every 6 months, a US schedule that reflects Medicare's. Our CPAP supply replacement guide lists the rest.
  • Check the magnet warning with your doctor. The frame and lower headgear clips contain magnets that may interfere with certain implants or medical devices. If that applies to you, compare full face CPAP masks without magnets or other ResMed AirTouch masks.

The AirTouch F40 quick-release elbow lets you disconnect from the hose when you get up, then reconnect without refitting the mask. Magnetic clips on the lower headgear straps make taking it off and putting it back on just as simple.

Do I need a prescription for the AirCurve 11 VAuto bundle?

Yes. Bilevel machines like the AirCurve 11 VAuto require a prescription, and only your doctor can determine whether bilevel therapy fits your needs. The AirTouch F40 mask also requires a valid prescription.

How is the AirCurve 11 VAuto different from the AirSense 11?

The AirCurve 11 is a bilevel machine with two pressure settings, one for inhaling and one for exhaling. The AirSense 11 is a standard CPAP with a single pressure setting or AutoSet mode.

What therapy modes and pressure range does the AirCurve 11 VAuto have?

Three modes: VAuto, S and CPAP. The operating pressure range is 3 to 25 cmH2O. In VAuto mode, EPAP runs from 3 to 25 cmH2O and IPAP from 4 to 25 cmH2O, with a fixed pressure support between them.

Is the ClimateLineAir heated tube included?

No. This configuration includes the HumidAir 11 standard water tub and standard tubing. You can add the ClimateLineAir 11 heated tube (model 39102) later; when you use it, switch Climate Control from Auto to Manual to access the humidity level setting.

Is the AirCurve 11 VAuto the same as the AirCurve 11 ASV?

No. The VAuto is an auto-adjusting bilevel device indicated for obstructive sleep apnea. The ASV is an adaptive servo-ventilation device indicated for central, obstructive and mixed apneas and periodic breathing. Your doctor determines which therapy you need.

Does the AirTouch F40 have magnets?

Yes. This mask contains magnets that may interfere with certain implants or medical devices. Please refer to the User Guide for complete labeling information, including magnet contraindications and warnings. The magnets are in the frame and lower headgear clips, with a magnetic field strength of up to 400 mT. Keep the mask at least 6 inches (150 mm) away from implants or medical devices that may be affected by magnetic interference, and the same applies to anyone in close physical contact with you. It is contraindicated with active implants that interact with magnets, such as pacemakers, ICDs, neurostimulators, CSF shunts and insulin or infusion pumps, and with ferromagnetic metallic implants such as aneurysm clips or flow disruption devices, embolic coils, stents, valves, electrodes, hearing or balance implants with magnets, ocular implants and metallic splinters in the eye. The mask is MR unsafe.

Can I travel with the AirCurve 11 bundle?

Yes. The AirCurve 11 meets FAA requirements (RTCA/DO-160) for all phases of air travel and can board as carry-on without counting toward your carry-on limit as a medical device. Empty the humidifier tub before flying, and note it is larger than dedicated travel machines.

Can the AirTouch F40 be used with bilevel therapy?

Yes. The AirTouch F40 is intended for patients over 66 lb (30 kg) prescribed CPAP or bilevel therapy, and it is rated for therapy pressures from 4 to 30 cmH2O. On AirCurve devices, select 'Pillows' as the mask setting.

Is the AirCurve 11 bundle FSA/HSA eligible?
