Because the Simplus covers nose and mouth, F&P designs it for people who breathe through either one, and it may suit you if congestion is a frequent problem. Its RollFit seal rolls on the bridge of your nose to adjust automatically, and it needs only three strap adjustments the first time you fit it. The Micro 510 weighs under half a pound, rides in a carry-on and is powerful enough to stay on your nightstand as your home machine.

Next to the original Micro, the 510 comes in four colors, adds a year of machine warranty and packs a hard shell case and a waterless AirMist HME in its own box. If you can do without those extras and the Fit Pack, our original Transcend Micro and Simplus bundle costs less. For nights away from an outlet, the PowerAway battery is sold separately.

Important Tips

  • Print the Simplus size guide at actual size before choosing one seal. You will find it in the guides on this page; check its printed ruler before you measure. If leaks or discomfort persist with a Fit Pack, switch to the spare Small or Large seal in the Fit Pack before you order a new Simplus cushion.
  • Fit it in the right order. Hook one headgear clip to the frame, rest the seal on your face, pull the headgear back over your head, then hook on the second clip. Tighten the top strap first, adjust the lower straps only as needed, and stop once it seals. Replacement Simplus headgear comes in Small and Medium-Large.
  • Connect the air path in this order. Start at the machine outlet with the WhisperSoft muffler, add the TransFlex hose and the AirMist HME, and finish at the Simplus. The lower end of the HME adapter takes the hose and the upper end takes the mask; handle the cartridge by its plastic shell rather than the foam.
  • Budget one AirMist cartridge for every 3 to 7 nights. It cannot be cleaned, so swap in a fresh one on that schedule and bring enough AirMist replacement cartridges for the length of your trip.
  • Put in a fresh air filter every two weeks, clean-looking or not. Inspect it weekly, and sooner in dusty or smoky rooms. Only 510 filters fit this machine: stock Micro 510 woven filters or hypoallergenic ones, never original Micro PureFresh filters.
  • Clean the Simplus each morning and the headgear once a week (every 7 days). Wash in lukewarm soapy water, keep any soak under 10 minutes, rinse and dry out of direct sunlight. Skip alcohol, bleach, antibacterial cleaners and the dishwasher. If the mask weakens or cracks, stop using it; a Simplus mask without headgear replaces it while you keep your headgear, and the Simplus swivel is also sold on its own.
  • Clean the hose, muffler and HME adapter every week and swap them out every 3 months. A mild detergent solution made with distilled water does the job; rinse them in distilled water and let them air dry. On travel mornings, the dry cycle button runs the blower slowly to dry the connected hose before it goes back in the case.
  • Press Power if SleepStart does not kick in. Breathing into the mask may not start the Micro 510 with every mask, and Power is also the button you use to start therapy in flight.
  • Carry the FAA letter and call your airline before you fly. Some airlines ask for notice ahead of the trip, and some expect more battery runtime than the flight itself lasts. Our CPAP air travel guide walks through security and boarding.
  • Sold separately: plug adapters for trips abroad. The 40W power supply accepts 100 to 240 volts, so abroad you only change the plug shape with our Transcend Micro travel adapters for UK, European and Australian outlets.
  • Sold separately: battery power for camping or outages. The Micro 510 has no internal battery; the optional PowerAway battery runs it up to 17.5 hours in most cases, less at higher pressures, with mask leaks or at altitude.
  • Sold separately: a bag for the whole kit. The SleepPak travel bag is an optional add-on and is not part of this bundle.

What does this Simplus bundle add over the original Micro version?

It is the only Micro and Simplus pairing we offer as a Fit Pack, so you can try all three seal sizes before you settle on one. The 510 itself comes in four colors, carries a three-year machine warranty, and its box adds a hard shell case and the waterless AirMist HME. If one mask size and the core therapy are enough, our original Transcend Micro Simplus bundle is the lower-cost pick.

In this bundle, what is the difference between the Fit Pack and a single size?

Pick a single size and you get one Simplus with the Small, Medium or Large seal. Pick the Fit Pack and you get the mask with its Medium seal in place, the Small and Large seals loose in the bag, plus F&P's quick reference card and use and care guide. The Fit Pack suits a first Simplus; a single size suits you if you have already measured with the printable guide.

Does the Fit Pack cost more than a single size in this bundle?

No. The Fit Pack and the Small, Medium and Large options are the same price in every color, so the choice comes down to whether you already know your seal size.

Is a full face mask a good match for a travel CPAP?

It can be, if mouth breathing or a blocked nose is part of your nights. F&P designs the Simplus for mouth or nose breathers, and the Micro 510 takes masks with the standard 22 mm connection, the Simplus among them, so the two work together from the first night.

Will the Simplus stay on if I move my head during the night?

F&P built the ErgoForm headgear to sit high on the back of your head so you can turn side to side or tilt up and down without dislodging the mask, and the elbow rotates to cut down on hose drag. Snug the straps only until the seal holds.

If I change machines later, can I keep the Simplus?

Yes. F&P designs the Simplus to work with all home PAP devices, so the mask stays useful if you move to a different machine. In the other direction, the Micro 510 runs with other CPAP masks as long as they use the standard 22 mm fitting.

Do I need to buy anything else to start therapy?

No. Once we have a valid prescription on file, this bundle has everything you need to run therapy from a wall outlet, and your provider sets your pressure. A battery, a travel bag and plug adapters for international trips are optional and sold separately.
