Overview

The Pico is a nasal mask for people who want the least amount of mask touching their face. The dual-wall silicone cushion seals at just the tip of your nose, and there is no forehead-support arm across your face, so you keep an open field of view for reading, watching TV, or wearing glasses before you fall asleep.

The cushion comes in three sizes, Small/Medium, Large, and Extra Large, and all three snap onto the same universal frame. If you are not sure which size fits you, the Fit Pack ships with all three cushions so you can test each one. Slim headgear with a crown strap and Velcro tabs holds the mask in place, and quick-release clips let you take the mask off at night without redoing your strap adjustments.

Exhalation is built into the mask itself, so you do not need a separate exhalation device. The Pico works with both CPAP and bi-level (BiPAP) therapy and connects to your machine's tubing through a quick-release swivel elbow at the front. The cushion and headgear are latex-free and DEHP-free, and the headgear uses mechanical clips and Velcro tabs rather than magnets.

This mask requires a prescription. It is a nasal-only design, so if you breathe through your mouth during sleep, pair it with a chin strap or choose a full-face mask instead.

Guide and Resources

Important Tips

  • This mask requires a prescription. Confirm your cushion size before ordering, since Small/Medium, Large, and Extra Large all fit the same frame.
  • Not sure which cushion size to start with? Order the Fit Pack so you can test Small/Medium, Large, and Extra Large before settling on one.
  • Hand-wash the cushion, frame, and headgear daily with CPAP Mask Wipes for a quick clean, or wash with warm water and a liquid dish soap. Rinse thoroughly and let air dry out of direct sunlight.
  • The cushion and frame can go in the dishwasher once a week on the top shelf. Do not wash the headgear in the dishwasher, and avoid bleach, alcohol, or cleaning solutions with conditioners.
  • Apply CPAP Skin Moisturizer before bed to help reduce irritation where the cushion touches your nose.
  • A CPAP Cleaning Machine adds full sanitization on top of your regular hand washing, especially helpful if you have allergies or are short on time.
  • Inspect your cushion and headgear regularly for cracks, tears, or loss of elasticity. Use the CPAP Parts Finder to locate the correct replacements when needed.
  • Adjust the cushion and crown strap gently for a snug fit without overtightening. Overtightening does not improve the seal and can cause red marks.
  • Use the quick-release headgear clips to take the mask off at night without loosening your strap adjustments.
  • Since the Pico has no forehead-support arm, most of the stability comes from the crown strap. Keep it snug if you move around a lot during sleep.
  • Store the mask in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight, pets, and dust when not in use.
  • If the low-profile fit of the Pico still feels like too much, the AirFit P10 nasal pillow mask is an even smaller alternative worth comparing.

Everything you need to know about the Pico

Minimal Contact With Your Face

The cushion seals at just the tip of your nose instead of covering the bridge or sides, so there is less material touching your skin overnight. Fewer contact points mean fewer pressure marks and a lighter feel than a full nasal mask.

Open View for Reading or Glasses

There is no forehead-support arm crossing your face, so your line of sight stays clear. You can read, watch TV, or keep your glasses on right up until you fall asleep.

Three Cushion Sizes Plus a Fit Pack

Choose Small/Medium, Large, or Extra Large, all of which snap onto the same universal frame. If you are unsure of your size, the Fit Pack includes all three cushions so you can try each one at home.
Philips Respironics Pico Nasal CPAP Mask

Dual-Wall Cushion for a Stable Seal

An inner wall seals softly at the tip of your nose while an outer wall adds support and stability, so the seal holds even if you shift positions during the night.

No Magnets in the Headgear

The headgear uses Velcro adjustment tabs and mechanical quick-release clips instead of magnetic clips. This is a genuine difference from magnetic-clip masks like the DreamWisp, not a marketing label.

Quick-Release Clips and Tubing Elbow

The headgear clips release with a simple turn, so you can take the mask off at night without loosening your straps. The front elbow has its own quick-release swivel for the CPAP tubing.

Works With CPAP and Bi-Level Therapy

The Pico is built for both CPAP and bi-level (BiPAP) prescriptions, not just standard CPAP, so it fits a wider range of therapy setups.

Cushion Snaps Off for Easy Cleaning

The cushion is bonded to a hard shell that snaps on and off the frame in one piece, which makes daily cleaning and cushion swaps simple.

Built-In Exhalation, No Extra Part

Exhalation ports are built into the mask itself, so you do not need to attach a separate exhalation device to your setup.

Dishwasher-Safe Cushion and Frame

The cushion and frame can go in the dishwasher once a week on the top shelf for a deeper clean than hand washing alone. The headgear should still be washed by hand.

Latex-Free and DEHP-Free

The mask is not made with natural rubber latex or DEHP, which matters if you have a latex sensitivity or prefer to avoid these materials.

Beard-Friendly Fit

Because the seal sits at the tip of your nose instead of across your cheeks or chin, the Pico avoids the facial-hair areas that cause leaks with masks that seal lower on the face.

Slim Headgear With a Crown Strap

The soft, slim-line headgear includes a stabilizing crown strap worn loosely, so it holds the mask securely without adding bulk around your head.

FAQs

Do I need a prescription to buy the Pico nasal mask?

Yes. The Pico is a prescription CPAP and bi-level mask in the United States, and a valid prescription is required before shipping.

What cushion sizes does the Pico come in?

The Pico cushion comes in three sizes: Small/Medium, Large, and Extra Large. All three snap onto the same universal frame. If you are not sure which size fits you, the Fit Pack includes all three cushions so you can try each one.

What is included in the Fit Pack?

The Fit Pack includes the Pico frame, all three cushion sizes (Small/Medium, Large, and Extra Large), headgear, and the instructions for use, so you can test sizes at home before settling on one.

Is the Pico nasal mask magnet-free?

Yes. The Pico headgear uses Velcro adjustment tabs and mechanical quick-release clips, not magnetic clips.

What makes the Pico different from other nasal masks like the Wisp or DreamWisp?

The Pico seals at just the tip of your nose and has no forehead-support arm, which keeps facial contact to a minimum. The Wisp also seals over the nose but includes forehead support, and the DreamWisp routes the hose from the top of your head and uses magnetic headgear clips. The Pico connects at the front and has no magnets.

Does the Pico work with bi-level (BiPAP) machines, or only CPAP?

Both. The Pico is built to work with CPAP and bi-level (BiPAP) therapy, not just standard CPAP.

Can I wear glasses or read in bed with the Pico mask on?

Yes. Since there is no forehead-support arm crossing your face, the Pico keeps your field of view open, which makes it easier to read, watch TV, or wear glasses before you fall asleep.

Can I use the Pico if I breathe through my mouth?

The Pico is a nasal mask designed for nose breathing. If you tend to breathe through your mouth during sleep, pair it with a chin strap to keep your mouth closed, or choose a full-face mask instead.

How do I clean the Pico mask?

Hand-wash the non-fabric parts daily in warm water with a liquid dish soap, and wash the fabric headgear weekly. The cushion and frame can also go in the dishwasher once a week on the top shelf, but the headgear should be hand-washed only. Avoid bleach, alcohol, or cleaning solutions with conditioners.

Does the Pico come with tubing?

No. The box includes the frame and cushion in your selected size, headgear, and the instructions for use. Tubing connects from your CPAP or bi-level machine to the mask's front elbow and is not included with the mask.

Is the Pico a good fit for active or side sleepers?

The dual-wall cushion is designed to hold its seal through movement, and the low-profile, forehead-arm-free design leaves less to catch or shift as you change positions. Fit still depends on getting the right cushion size, so the Fit Pack is worth considering if you move around a lot at night.

How often should I replace the cushion and headgear?

Replace the cushion regularly and the headgear periodically as it loses elasticity or shows signs of wear, since a worn cushion or stretched headgear can lead to leaks. Check both for cracks, tears, or loss of elasticity, and use the CPAP Parts Finder to confirm the right replacement.
