Overview

The Breas Q-Lite is an in-line CPAP muffler, a small accessory that connects between your CPAP machine and your hose to reduce machine and tubing noise for a quieter night. It is not a CPAP machine; it is a passive noise-reducing add-on with an internal foam baffle and no moving parts.

It works with standard CPAP, APAP, and BiPAP tubing from virtually all brands. Note that it is not compatible with heated tubing (the muffler breaks the heated-tube connection), and it should not be used with a water-based heated humidifier, because moisture can saturate the foam.

Guide and Resources

Important Tips

  • The Q-Lite muffler is compatible with almost all CPAP machines such as: Human Design Medical, Somnetics, Philips Respironics, ResMed, Fisher & Paykel, Devilbiss Healthcare, and more
  • It is NOT COMPATIBLE with heated tubing, only standard tubing
  •  Do not use soap when cleaning the Q-lite Muffler. Rinse with water and allow to air dry completely out of direct sunlight. For best results it is recommended that the Q-lite is completely dry before using it again.
  • This is not to be connected between the mask and CPAP tube. It's designed to be connected between your CPAP hose and your CPAP machine.

Less Noise, More Peaceful Sleep

The Q-lite muffler has a foam layer inside that helps to reduce noises associated with sleep therapy. If you're searching for how to make CPAP quieter, the newly redesigned Q-Lite CPAP Muffler is the solution

Not Compatible with Heated Tubing

An Integrated Heated Tube is not compatible with the Q-lite.A direct connection with the machine provides heat to a heated tube. The connection between the hose and the CPAP machine is broken due to the muffler, which prevents the hose from receiving electricity.

Compatible with ALL CPAP Machines

All CPAP machines, including those from Human Design Medical, Somnetics, Philips Respironics, ResMed, Fisher & Paykel, Devilbiss Healthcare, and others, are compatible with Q-lite.Q-lite can be used with normal tubing, performance tubing, and slim tubing; however, most heated tubing systems cannot be utilized with the Q-lite Short Tube since it must be attached to your machine at the air outlet port. If the Q-lite is disassembled each day and allowed to dry completely before the following usage, it can be used with heated humidifiers.

Lightweight and Convenient

The short tube is 8 inches long and the Q-lite CPAP Muffler is around 5 inches long. It's simple to connect and disconnect from your sleep therapy equipment, and because Q-lite fits inline with your conventional CPAP tube, it won't clutter up your sleep therapy setup.

Humidification

If you wish to have humidification, you can use water-less humidification with the heat moisture exchange (sold separately) to your CPAP Machine.

FAQs

Is the Q-Lite a CPAP machine?

No. It is an in-line muffler, a passive accessory that connects between your CPAP machine and hose to reduce noise. It has no power and no moving parts.

How does it reduce noise?

It has an internal foam baffle that dampens the sound of the machine and the airflow in the tubing, for a quieter setup for you and your bed partner.

Does it work with my CPAP machine?

Yes. It fits standard CPAP, APAP, and BiPAP tubing from virtually all brands (ResMed, Philips Respironics, Fisher & Paykel, Transcend, DeVilbiss, and others) using the included short tube at the machine's air outlet.

Can I use it with heated tubing or a heated humidifier?

Not with heated tubing: the muffler breaks the direct connection a heated tube needs. With a water-based humidifier, moisture can saturate the foam, so avoid it or use a waterless heat-moisture exchanger (HME) instead.

Does it change my therapy pressure?

Used with standard (non-heated) tubing, it is designed to maintain your prescribed pressure and therapy. Keep it dry and replace it if it is damaged or if you notice the noise increasing.

How do I clean it?

Rinse it with water (no soap), let it air dry fully out of direct sunlight, and clean it about monthly. Replace it when it shows wear.
