Guide and Resources

Important Tips

  • Replace the heated tubing every 6-12 months or sooner if visible wear or damage occurs to maintain optimal performance.
  • Clean the tubing regularly with mild soap and warm water to prevent buildup of residue or bacteria.
  • Use CPAP wipes for quick daily cleaning to keep the tubing fresh between thorough washes.
  • Pair with a CPAP cleaning machine for deep sanitization to remove allergens and bacteria.
  • Store the tubing properly to prevent kinks or bends that could impact airflow during therapy.
  • Ensure the tubing is securely connected to the machine and mask to avoid air leaks or disruptions.
  • Set the humidifier to the desired temperature range (60-86°F or 16-30°C) for a personalized and comfortable experience.
  • Monitor for signs of condensation or "rainout" and adjust the temperature settings if necessary.
  • Always check compatibility before purchase, as this tubing works specifically with DreamStation and System One 60 Series machines.
  • Turn on the humidification feature to activate heating for consistent humidity and comfort during therapy.

Expert Tips & Videos

FAQs

Which machines does this heated tube fit?

The 15 mm DreamStation heated tube (HT15) fits the Philips Respironics DreamStation, DreamStation 2, and System One 60 Series CPAP and BiPAP machines. It is not for other Philips machines.

Is there a slimmer option for the DreamStation 2?

Yes. The DreamStation 2 also accepts the lighter 12 mm micro heated tube (HT12). The 15 mm HT15 still fits the DreamStation 2 if you prefer the standard diameter.

Does it heat without a humidifier?

No. The tube heats only when your machine's heated humidifier is attached and turned on. You can still use the tube without the humidifier, but it will not heat.

What does the heated tube do?

It keeps the humidified air at a steady temperature from the machine to your mask, which prevents rainout (the condensation that collects in an unheated hose) and improves comfort.

What size and length is it?

It is a 15 mm diameter heated tube about 6 feet long, with standard 22 mm cuffs.

How often should I replace it?

Inspect it regularly and replace it if you see wear, discoloration, or damage. A common reorder guideline is about every 3 months.

Do I need a prescription?

Yes. Like other CPAP supplies, this heated tube is sold with a valid prescription in the United States (HCPCS A4604).
