Overview

The DreamWisp is a nasal mask for people who want to keep the hose off their face. Instead of a front-mounted tube, the hose connects at the top of your head, and pressurized air travels through a hollow silicone frame down to a soft cushion that seals over your nose. You get a clear field of view for reading or watching TV before you fall asleep, and more freedom to move or sleep on your side or stomach without the hose pulling on your face.

The silicone cushion comes in five sizes, Petite through Extra Large, so you can match it to your face shape. The frame itself is one standard size; a separate Small, Medium, or Large frame connector adjusts how the frame sits relative to your nose and eyes. Four-point headgear with magnetic clips holds everything in place and lets you take the mask on and off without re-threading straps.

The DreamWisp works with pressures from 4 to 30 cm H2O and connects to standard 22 mm tubing, including heated hoses, so it fits most CPAP and APAP machines. If you use a ResMed AirMini, you will need a dedicated AirMini setup pack rather than the standard hose connection.

This mask requires a prescription. It is a nasal-only design, so if you breathe through your mouth during sleep, a full-face mask or a chin strap paired with this mask is a better fit.

Guide and Resources

Important Tips

  • This mask requires a prescription. Confirm your cushion size before ordering since the frame is one size and only the cushion and connector adjust for fit.
  • If the frame leans toward your ears, try a smaller frame connector. If it falls toward your eyes, try a larger one.
  • Not sure which cushion size to start with? The DreamWisp Fit Pack ships with three cushion sizes so you can test fit before settling on one.
  • Avoid overtightening the headgear. Adjust the straps for a snug, comfortable fit to prevent red marks or skin irritation.
  • Hand-wash the cushion and frame daily with CPAP Soap and rinse thoroughly, or run them through the dishwasher up to once a week.
  • Wash the headgear by hand only, once a week, with mild soap and warm water, then let it air dry completely.
  • For quick cleanups, especially while traveling, use CPAP Mask Wipes.
  • Use CPAP Strap Covers to reduce pressure and avoid red lines on your cheeks.
  • Clean the tubing weekly with the CPAP Tube and Mask Cleaning Brush Set to remove buildup.
  • If you decide the over-the-nose cushion isn't the right fit, the DreamWear Nasal Mask shares the same top-of-head tube but seals below the nose instead.
  • Using a ResMed AirMini? You'll need a dedicated AirMini setup pack; the standard 22 mm connection alone will not fit.
  • Store the mask in a clean, dry place, away from direct sunlight, to prevent material degradation.

Everything you need to know about the Dreamwisp

Hose Stays Off Your Face

The tube connects at the top of your head instead of the front of the mask, so nothing hangs across your face. You keep an open field of view for reading or watching TV, and there is less hose pulling at your cushion seal as you move at night.

Freedom to Move and Change Positions

The top-of-head tube and low-profile cushion give you room to turn, sleep on your side, or sleep on your stomach without the hose getting caught or dragging the mask out of place. Four-point headgear keeps the seal steady through those position changes.

Five Cushion Sizes for a Better Fit

The silicone cushion comes in Petite, Small, Medium, Large, and Extra Large, so you can match it to your face instead of settling for one generic size. A properly sized cushion is one of the biggest factors in avoiding leaks and red marks.

Cushion Seals Over the Nose

The silicone cushion rests over your nose rather than under it or inside your nostrils. This gives it a different fit profile than nasal pillow masks and than the DreamWear nasal mask, which seals below the nose.

Air Travels Through the Frame

Pressurized air moves through the hollow silicone frame on its way to the cushion, so there is no external hose crossing your cheek or forehead. This is what makes the top-of-head connection possible.

Two-Part Sizing System

The frame is one standard size, and a Small, Medium, or Large frame connector adjusts how it sits on your face. If the frame leans toward your ears, you likely need a smaller connector; if it falls toward your eyes, you likely need a larger one.

Magnetic Headgear Clips

Four-point headgear fastens to the frame with magnetic clips, so you can disconnect and reconnect the mask without loosening your straps each time. This makes middle-of-the-night bathroom trips faster.

Fit Pack Option for First-Time Sizing

We also carry the DreamWisp as a Fit Pack, which ships with three cushion sizes (Small, Medium, and Large) plus a Medium frame connector and headgear, so you can test fit before committing to one cushion size.

Works With Heated Tubing

The mask uses a standard 22 mm cuff connection, so it works with heated hoses and most CPAP and APAP machines out of the box. ResMed AirMini owners need a separate AirMini setup pack rather than the standard connector.

Dishwasher-Safe Frame and Cushion

The frame and cushion can go in the dishwasher once a week, which makes it easier to reach the inside of the frame than hand-washing alone. The headgear is not dishwasher safe and should be washed by hand.

Built for Nose Breathers

This is a nasal mask, not a full-face mask, so it is designed for people who breathe through their nose during sleep. If you tend to breathe through your mouth, pair it with a chin strap or choose a full-face mask instead.

FAQs

Is the DreamWisp safe to use if I or someone near me has a pacemaker or other implanted device?

Do not use this mask if you or anyone who sleeps near you has a pacemaker, an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD), or another active or metallic implant, including neurostimulators, cochlear implants, aneurysm clips, or metallic cranial plates. The DreamWisp headgear contains magnets (400 mT). Keep the mask at least 6 inches (about 15 cm) away from any implant, and talk to your doctor before using this product if this applies to you or someone in your household.

Do I need a prescription to buy the DreamWisp?

Yes. The DreamWisp is a prescription CPAP mask in the United States, and we require a valid prescription before shipping.

What comes in the box?

The standard box includes one DreamWisp nasal mask in your selected cushion size, the silicone frame with swivel elbow, four-point headgear, a user manual, and a size guide. The Fit Pack variant instead includes three cushion sizes (Small, Medium, Large), a Medium frame connector, and headgear.

How is the DreamWisp different from the DreamWear nasal mask?

Both masks connect the hose at the top of your head, but the cushions are different. The DreamWisp cushion seals over the top of your nose, while the DreamWear cushion sits below your nose and delivers air at the base of your nostrils. Try the DreamWisp if you want a cushion that covers the nose; try DreamWear if you prefer air delivered under the nose.

How is the DreamWisp different from the Wisp nasal mask?

Both use a similar over-the-nose cushion, but the hose connects in different places. The DreamWisp routes the hose from the top of your head; the Wisp connects the hose to the front of the mask. If you want the front off your face entirely, choose the DreamWisp.

Which cushion size should I order?

The DreamWisp cushion comes in Petite, Small, Medium, Large, and Extra Large. If you are unsure of your size, the DreamWisp Fit Pack ships with three cushion sizes (Small, Medium, Large) so you can test fit at home before settling on one.

What is the frame connector, and do I need to pick a size?

The silicone frame itself is one standard size. A separate frame connector, available in Small, Medium, or Large, adjusts how the frame sits relative to your nose and eyes. If the frame leans toward your ears, try a smaller connector; if it falls toward your eyes, try a larger one. The Medium connector fits most users and ships standard.

Will the DreamWisp work with my CPAP or APAP machine?

The DreamWisp uses a standard 22 mm cuff connection, so it is compatible with most CPAP, APAP, and BiPAP machines and works with heated tubing. If you use a ResMed AirMini, you will need a dedicated AirMini setup pack since the standard connection alone does not fit that machine.

Can I use the DreamWisp if I breathe through my mouth?

The DreamWisp is a nasal mask designed for nose breathing. If you tend to breathe through your mouth during sleep, pair it with a chin strap to keep your mouth closed, or choose a full-face mask instead.

How do I clean the DreamWisp?

Wash the frame and cushion daily by hand with a mild CPAP-safe soap and warm water, or run them through the dishwasher up to once a week. Wash the headgear by hand only, once a week, and let it air dry completely.

How often should I replace the DreamWisp parts?

Replacement cadence varies by how often you use and clean your mask, but cushions typically wear out faster than the frame or headgear. Check your cushion for stiffness, discoloration, or a weakened seal, and replace it as soon as you notice reduced comfort or increased leaks.

Is the DreamWisp loud?

Because air travels through the hollow frame near your ears, some users notice more sound close to the head than with a front-vented mask, especially when paired with a humidifier. Real-world noise varies by person and setup.
