Overview

If firmer masks leave you with red marks and sore spots, the ComfortGel Blue takes a softer approach that travels well. Its blue gel cushion molds to your face, and you can even warm it in your hands first, while a thin silicone flap over the gel does the sealing so you never have to crank the straps.

The adjustable forehead support keeps the fit steady even when the bed and pillow change nightly. We pair it with the Luna TravelPAP, a small machine that adjusts your pressure for you, flies without paperwork headaches, and runs from a free app on your phone.

Guide and Resources

Important Tips

  • Warm the gel cushion in your hand for one to two minutes before fitting. The softened gel conforms to your face more easily and helps achieve a seal with lighter headgear tension.
  • Fit the mask lying down in your sleep position. The SST silicone flap seats itself under therapy pressure, so let the machine reach working pressure before deciding whether the seal feels right.
  • Adjust the forehead support height so it rests comfortably on your forehead without pressing down. A well-positioned forehead support takes pressure off the nasal bridge and reduces red marks.
  • If you wake with leaks, check the forehead support height and headgear tension before tightening straps. The SST flap is designed to seal under normal tension: overtightening usually makes cushion distortion and leaks worse.
  • The ComfortGel Blue is for nasal breathers only. If you breathe through your mouth or wake with a dry mouth, add a chin strap (sold separately) to keep your mouth closed during the night.
  • Rinse the gel cushion, frame, forehead support, and headgear daily with warm water and mild soap, and let all parts air dry before reassembly. Avoid alcohol-based cleaners on the gel, and replace the cushion every 1 to 3 months.
  • Download the free LightTrip app and pair it over Bluetooth before your first night away. The machine has no screen, so the app is the easiest way to start therapy, adjust the ramp, and run a mask fit check.
  • Flying? Keep the machine in your carry-on, switch it to airplane mode with a double click of the Bluetooth button, and bring the FAA compliance letter in case your airline asks for documentation. Confirm your carrier's CPAP policy before you travel.
  • Check the disposable machine filter weekly and replace it about every 6 months. It is not washable. The box includes 3 filters, and replacement filters are available when you run out.
  • The machine operates at elevations up to 7,500 feet. If your trip goes higher than that, plan your sleeping arrangements at a lower elevation.
  • The included slim tubing is lighter and coils smaller than standard home tubing, and it connects to the mask with the same standard fitting. Pack it flat in the storage bag to save even more space.

Product Features

Gel Cushion That Molds to Your Face

The blue gel cushion holds warmth and shapes itself to your skin instead of pressing back like firmer materials, which cuts down on sore spots and red marks around your nose.

No Boiling Required

This gel cushion is sealed inside its casing and ready to wear straight out of the box. You never boil it, unlike the original ComfortGel cushion it replaces.

Dial In Your Fit With Four Sizes

Petite, Small, Medium, and Large cushions let you find a precise fit instead of a generic one, and the adjustable forehead pad fine-tunes the seal without overtightening the headgear.

Take the Pressure Off Your Nose Bridge

The height-adjustable forehead support distributes the mask load across your forehead instead of concentrating it at your nose bridge. Set it so it rests flat on your brow and you reduce or remove the red marks that come with masks anchored only at the nose.

No Magnets, So Implant Wearers Can Use It Safely

The ComfortGel Blue Nasal has no magnets, so the FDA precaution about magnetic mask parts near implanted medical devices does not apply. If you have an implanted device, ask your doctor which mask is right for you. The FDA precautionary guidance for magnetic mask closures near pacemakers, ICDs, cochlear implants, and other implanted devices does not apply to this mask. If you have an implanted medical device, ask your doctor about your specific device.

Small Machine, Full Therapy Range

The Luna TravelPAP covers the same wide pressure range as a full-size home device, in CPAP or AutoCPAP mode. Set it to your prescribed settings and it delivers CPAP or AutoCPAP therapy from 4 to 20 cmH2O, the same range many home machines cover.

Gentler Starts With Auto Ramp

The auto ramp begins therapy at a lower pressure and builds as you fall asleep, while Reslex exhalation relief softens each breath out. Both help on nights when a new environment already makes drifting off harder than usual.

One Adapter Covers Global Outlets

The universal power supply accepts 100-240V, so the same adapter works across North America, Europe, Asia, and beyond. Add a plug-shape adapter for the local outlets and you are powered on any continent.

Backed by a Two-Year Machine Warranty

The Luna TravelPAP carries a 2-year machine warranty, so the device that leaves the house with you is covered trip after trip. The mask is covered separately under its own Philips warranty.

FAQs

How does the gel cushion and SST flap work together?

The blue gel cushion is the padding layer: it softens under warmth and molds to the shape of your face. The thin silicone flap sits over the gel and handles the sealing. Separating padding from sealing means the gel stays comfortable without needing to be firm, and the silicone flap holds the seal without requiring overtightened headgear.

Can I warm the gel cushion to help it fit better?

Yes. Holding the gel cushion in your hand for a minute or two before fitting softens it and helps it conform to your face contours during the break-in period. Some users also find the cushion molds more precisely after the first few nights of use as the gel responds to their individual face shape.

What size ComfortGel Blue do I need?

The ComfortGel Blue comes in Petite, Small, Medium, and Large. Philips Respironics provides a fit guide on its website to help you measure and select the right size. If you are between sizes, start with the smaller size and size up if you experience persistent leaks at the sides of the cushion.

Can I use this mask if I have a pacemaker or cochlear implant?

Yes. The ComfortGel Blue contains no magnets in any component. The FDA precautionary guidance about magnetic mask closures near pacemakers, ICDs, cochlear implants, and similar implanted devices does not apply to this mask. If you have an implanted medical device, ask your doctor about your specific device.

Can I use the ComfortGel Blue if I breathe through my mouth at night?

No, not without an accessory. The mask covers only the nose, so mouth breathing will break the seal. A chin strap can help keep your mouth closed if you breathe through your mouth occasionally. Consistent mouth breathers should consider a full-face or hybrid mask.

Can I take the Luna TravelPAP on a plane?

Yes. The Luna TravelPAP meets FAA requirements for in-flight use, and an official compliance letter is available to show your airline if asked. A double click of the Bluetooth button turns on airplane mode. Airline policies can vary, so confirm your carrier's CPAP rules before you fly.

Does the Luna TravelPAP include a humidifier?

No. The Luna TravelPAP does not include humidification, which is part of how it stays so small and light. It also means there is no water to pack, fill, or empty on the road. If you rely on heated humidification at home and are prone to dryness, keep your home machine for nightly use and treat this one as your travel setup.

What pressure settings does the Luna TravelPAP support?

It runs in both CPAP and AutoCPAP modes across a 4 to 20 cmH2O range in 0.5 increments, with Reslex exhalation relief and an auto ramp. It operates at elevations up to 7,500 feet, so check your destination's elevation if you are headed into high mountains.

How often do I replace the machine filter?

Check the disposable filter weekly and replace it about every 6 months. It is not washable. The box includes 3 filters, so you are covered for a long stretch of trips before you need replacements.

What is included in this bundle?

The bundle includes the Luna TravelPAP travel CPAP machine, its slim travel tube, a storage bag, three disposable filters, the AC power adapter, the user and quick start guides, and the ComfortGel Blue mask in the size you select. No additional purchases are required to start therapy.

Do I need a prescription, and is the bundle FSA or HSA eligible?

Yes to both. The Luna TravelPAP is a prescription device, so a valid Rx is required, and the bundle is FSA and HSA eligible. If your prescription has lapsed, contact us and we will point you to options for renewing it.

What warranty comes with the bundle?

The Luna TravelPAP carries a 2-year machine warranty, and the ComfortGel Blue carries the 90-day Philips manufacturer mask warranty, so the two are covered separately. Contact us for machine warranty support and mask warranty questions.
