Overview

The Lumin LM3000 is a countertop UV-C sanitizer for the household and personal items you handle every day. Place an item face up in the drawer, close it, press the button, and the cycle runs for five minutes. There is no waiting period afterward.

It works with UV-C light alone. No chemicals, no water and no drying time. The drawer is lined with polished aluminum that reflects the UV-C light to improve coverage, and the unit shuts off automatically if the drawer is opened mid cycle. The lamp is rated for 9,000 hours, so replacing it is rarely necessary.

Intended use: React Health states that the Lumin is a UV device intended to sanitize a variety of household and personal items, such as cell phones, keys and video game controllers. React Health does not market, label or represent the Lumin as a CPAP cleaner, a CPAP sanitizer or a medical device, and does not authorize claims about CPAP cleaning or disinfection of respiratory equipment.

Results depend on positioning. UV-C travels in straight lines, so do not stack items and lay them out so the light reaches every surface you want treated. Visibly soiled items should be wiped first.

Guide and Resources

Important Tips

  • Wipe visibly soiled articles thoroughly before putting them in. The Lumin is a UV-C step, not a way to remove dirt, oils or residue.
  • Do not stack objects inside the drawer. UV-C travels in straight lines, so anything in shadow is not reached. React Health states that results may vary depending on positioning and shadowing.
  • Never place living creatures in the Lumin. The UV emitted in the closed chamber is not compatible with life.
  • Never run it with the drawer open. The unit is designed to shut off automatically and that safety feature should not be defeated, because UV light can damage eyesight.
  • Keep it away from water. Do not use it in or around sinks, tubs, pools or any body of water, and do not immerse the unit.
  • Clean the aluminum drawer gently. Avoid baking soda and other alkali cleaners, which discolor aluminum, and avoid abrasive scrubbers. Test any metal or glass cleaner on a small area first and polish with a soft lint free cloth.
  • Keep it away from wireless equipment. React Health notes that home network devices, mobile phones, cordless telephones and walkie-talkies may be affected while the Lumin is running.
  • It is not a toy and is not intended to be used by children.
  • For CPAP equipment, follow the washing instructions from the maker of your mask, tubing and machine. React Health does not authorize CPAP cleaning claims for this product.

Household and Personal Items

React Health lists cell phones, keys and video game controllers as examples of what the Lumin is intended for. Anything that fits flat in the drawer and is not damaged by UV-C light can go in.

Five Minutes, Then Ready to Use

One five minute cycle, a beep and a green light, and no waiting period. Visibly soiled articles should be wiped thoroughly first.

No Chemicals and No Water

The Lumin uses UV-C light alone, so there is nothing to buy, refill or dry. Do not use it in or around sinks, tubs, pools or any body of water.

Results Depend on Positioning

React Health notes that the Lumin relies on the optics of UV-C light, so results may vary with positioning and shadowing. Do not stack items, and lay them out so the light reaches the surfaces you want treated.

React Health does not market, label or represent it as a CPAP cleaner, a CPAP sanitizer or a medical device, and claims about CPAP cleaning or disinfection of respiratory equipment are not authorized by React Health.

What is the Lumin intended for?

React Health describes it as a UV device intended to sanitize a variety of household and personal items, giving cell phones, keys and video game controllers as examples.

How long does a cycle take?

Five minutes. The unit beeps and a green light comes on when it finishes, and no waiting period is necessary before using the article.

Does it use chemicals, water or ozone?

No. The Lumin works with UV-C light from a 9 watt lamp. There is no water, no chemical and nothing to refill or dry.
