F&P Nova Nasal Mask with No Headgear Replacement

The F&P Nova is an over-the-nose nasal mask, meaning it seals around the outside of the nose (not inside the nostrils). It uses less facial coverage than many nasal masks, so your cheeks and upper face stay more open. For example, if you read, watch TV, or wear glasses before sleep, the lower-profile shape helps keep your view clear while therapy air continues flowing steadily.

The RollFit™ cushion is designed to “roll” slightly as you move, so the seal can adjust instead of being forced by tight straps. Think of turning your head on the pillow: the cushion shifts with the movement to keep contact around the nose. That can reduce the need to over-tighten. Sizes (S, M, L) matter here—correct sizing spreads pressure more evenly and helps prevent leaks.

The mask’s frame is lightweight and keeps the cushion and hose connection in a low-profile shape. It also includes a washable exhalation diffuser, which is the vent piece where exhaled air exits. The diffuser spreads that air out to reduce noise and avoid a strong air jet toward you or a bed partner. “CO₂ washout” simply means the venting clears exhaled carbon dioxide so you can breathe normally.

This setup works with CPAP, APAP, or BiPAP therapy. CPAP delivers one steady pressure, APAP adjusts pressure automatically, and BiPAP uses different pressures for inhale vs. exhale. It connects to standard 22 mm tubing (the common hose size used by most machines). It’s latex-free and intended for reuse with regular cleaning. Since headgear isn’t included, it fits best when replacing parts or mixing compatible Nova components.

RollFit™ refers to the cushion’s ability to move in a controlled way as you change position. Instead of the mask seal breaking when you roll to your side, the cushion can shift slightly to stay aligned with your nose. This can help keep leaks down without cranking the straps tighter. A common scenario is side-sleeping: the pillow presses on the mask, and the cushion movement helps the seal keep up.

This is a nasal interface that seals over the nose, not a nasal pillow system (pillows sit at the nostrils and seal at the openings). The diffuser is the vent that manages exhaled airflow. Instead of blowing out as a concentrated stream, the air is spread out to lower noise and reduce the sensation of air hitting your hands, face, or a partner. The important safety piece is CO₂ washout: the vent must clear the carbon dioxide you breathe out so it doesn’t build up inside the mask. It’s washable, so you can clean it and reuse it as directed.

This mask system is magnet-free, meaning it doesn’t use magnetic clips or magnetic alignment points anywhere in the frame or diffuser. That matters if you’ve been told to avoid magnets because of an implanted medical device or a clinical restriction. In practical terms, stability comes from the shape of the frame and how the parts connect mechanically, not from magnets snapping pieces together. Nothing in the mask is designed to interact with electronics.

The mask connects to standard 22 mm CPAP tubing, so it fits the most common hoses without adapters. It’s compatible with CPAP/APAP/BiPAP modes and doesn’t “change” your pressure settings on its own, pressure delivery is controlled by the machine.
