Overview

The Fisher & Paykel Eson Nasal CPAP Mask is the original Eson, the first generation in the Eson lineup, not the newer Fisher & Paykel Eson 2. It's built for people who breathe through their nose and want a quiet, comfortable mask with a fit that's stayed popular for years.

The RollFit silicone seal is a one-piece cushion that rolls back and forth on the bridge of your nose to adjust itself as you shift positions overnight, easing pressure on the nose bridge while keeping the seal intact. The Easy Frame is low-profile with a clear line of sight, and one frame size fits all three cushion sizes.

The ErgoFit headgear self-locates high on the back of your head and moves with you side to side and up and down, so it stays in place without needing to be pulled tight. It attaches with clips and a buckle instead of magnets, and it's latex-free.

The Q Cover diffuser keeps the Eson quiet, about 22 dBA with the diffuser in place. It's disposable: replace it every two to three months instead of washing it. That's the biggest difference from the Eson 2, which uses a washable diffuser instead.

We carry the Eson in Small, Medium, and Large cushion sizes with matching headgear. It connects to standard CPAP, APAP, and BiPAP machines with a standard hose, operates from 4 to 25 cm H2O, and is intended for single-patient, at-home use. A prescription is required, and we'll verify yours before your order ships.

Guide and Resources

Important Tips

  • Adjust the ErgoFit headgear's crown strap until the mask feels snug, not tight. It self-locates high on the back of your head, so you shouldn't need to overtighten it for a seal.
  • This is the original Eson, not the newer Eson 2. If you're deciding between the two, the Fisher & Paykel Eson 2 uses a washable diffuser instead of a disposable one.
  • Keep the ball-and-socket elbow's vent holes uncovered while you sleep, and never detach the elbow from the frame.
  • Replace the Q Cover diffuser every two to three months, or sooner if it gets noisy. Don't wash or rinse it, just swap it for a new one.
  • Rinse the RollFit cushion and Easy Frame regularly and let them air dry away from direct sunlight.
  • When the cushion or headgear wears out, replace just that part. Shop the Eson replacement cushion and Eson replacement headgear.
  • A prescription is required for this mask, the same as any CPAP or BiPAP mask. We'll verify yours before your order ships.

Everything you need to know about the CPAP Mask

A Seal That Moves With You

The RollFit silicone cushion rolls at the bridge of your nose to adjust itself as you shift positions, so it stays comfortable and sealed through the night instead of digging in.

Quiet Enough for a Shared Bed

With its diffuser in place, the Eson runs at about 22 dBA, quiet enough that it shouldn't disturb a partner. The diffuser also directs your exhaled air away from the bed instead of blowing across it.

Headgear That Stays Put, Not Tight

The ErgoFit headgear sits high on the back of your head and moves with you side to side and up and down, so it stays secure without needing to be cranked down tight. Clips make it quick to put on and take off.

Easy Frame Fits All Three Sizes

One low-profile frame works with all three RollFit cushion sizes, Small, Medium, and Large, so it stays out of your line of sight if you read or watch TV before bed. The frame clips apart for cleaning and snaps back together in seconds.

A Diffuser You Replace, Not Wash

The Q Cover diffuser is disposable. Don't wash or rinse it: swap in a new one every two to three months, or sooner if it gets noisy. This is the main difference from the Fisher & Paykel Eson 2, which uses a washable diffuser.

An Elbow That Rotates With You

The ball-and-socket elbow rotates so the hose can move as you turn in your sleep, cutting down on tube drag and pulling. Its vent holes release your exhaled air, so keep them uncovered, and never detach the elbow from the mask frame. Need a spare? Shop the Eson swivel.

Sized for a Precise Fit

Choose from three cushion sizes, Small, Medium, and Large, each paired with a matching headgear size. Small headgear ships with the Small mask, and Medium-Large headgear ships with Medium and Large. One frame fits all three.

Built Without Latex or Magnets

The Eson and its accessories aren't made with natural rubber latex. Headgear attaches with clips and a buckle instead of magnets, a safer option if you have a pacemaker or defibrillator, or you simply prefer to avoid magnetic parts.

Works With Your Current CPAP Setup

The Eson connects to standard CPAP, APAP, and BiPAP machines with a standard hose, so it fits most home PAP setups already in use. It's intended for single-patient, at-home use.

A Prescription Is Required

The Eson is a Class II medical device and needs a valid prescription to purchase, the same as any CPAP or BiPAP mask. We verify your prescription before your order ships.

FSA and HSA Eligible

The Eson qualifies as an FSA/HSA eligible expense, so you can use pre-tax funds toward the cost.

Everything You Need in the Box

Each box includes the mask frame, RollFit silicone cushion in your selected size, ErgoFit headgear with clips and buckle, elbow and swivel, and the Q Cover diffuser system.

Made for Nose Breathers

The Eson is a nasal mask that covers the nose only, made for people who breathe through their nose during sleep. If you tend to breathe through your mouth, pair it with a chin strap or consider a full face mask instead.

Replace Parts as You Need Them

Cushions and headgear wear out with regular use and washing. When it's time to refresh your mask, shop the Eson replacement cushion and Eson replacement headgear separately.

FAQs

What's the difference between the Eson and the Eson 2?

The original Eson uses a disposable fabric diffuser you replace every two to three months. The Eson 2, the newer generation, uses a washable, reusable diffuser instead. The two masks use different cushions, headgear, and frames, and their parts aren't interchangeable.

Do I wash the Eson's diffuser or replace it?

You replace it. Don't wash or rinse the Q Cover diffuser. Swap in a new one every two to three months, or sooner if it becomes noisy.

What sizes does the Eson come in?

Three cushion sizes: Small, Medium, and Large. Headgear comes in two sizes, Small and Medium-Large, matched to your cushion size. One frame fits all three cushion sizes.

Do I need a prescription to buy the Eson?

Yes. The Eson is a Class II medical device and requires a valid prescription, the same as any CPAP or BiPAP mask.

Does the Eson have magnets?

No. The headgear attaches with clips and a buckle instead of magnets, so it's magnet-free.

Is the Eson latex-free?

Yes. The Eson and its accessories aren't made with natural rubber latex.

How do I clean the Eson mask?

Rinse the cushion and frame regularly and let them air dry away from direct sunlight. The Q Cover diffuser is the exception: replace it instead of washing it, since washing can damage it.

Is the Eson compatible with my CPAP machine?

Yes. It connects to standard CPAP, APAP, and BiPAP machines using a standard hose, so it works with most home PAP setups.

Is the Eson quiet?

Yes. With the Q Cover diffuser in place, sound pressure level is about 22 dBA. Without the diffuser, it runs slightly louder at about 24 dBA.

Can I use the Eson if I breathe through my mouth at night?

The Eson is a nasal mask made for nose breathers. If you tend to breathe through your mouth, pair it with a chin strap or consider a full face mask instead.

Is the Eson FSA/HSA eligible?

Yes. The Eson qualifies as an FSA/HSA eligible expense.
