Overview

The AirFit N30i is for side sleepers, active sleepers, and anyone who wants to read, wear glasses, or watch TV in bed without a mask frame in the way. The tube connects at the top of your head instead of your chin, so the hose stays out of your face and off your pillow no matter how you move.

The cradle cushion sits just under your nose instead of sealing inside your nostrils, so it works well if nasal pillows have ever felt too intense. This starter pack gives you the frame, headgear, and multiple cushion sizes so you can find your fit at home instead of guessing from a size chart. See our AirTouch N30i if you'd rather try a fabric cushion on the same frame.

The frame is magnet-free and latex-free, and this mask is FSA/HSA eligible. A prescription is required for CPAP and BiPAP interfaces. If you're deciding between mask styles, our AirTouch vs. AirFit comparison breaks down the cushion difference in more detail, and our nasal masks collection has the rest of the lineup if the N30i isn't quite the fit you're after.

Guide and Resources

Important Tips

  • Start with the cushion size that feels closest to snug but not tight. Choose a replacement cushion once you know your size.
  • Adjust the headgear strap evenly so the mask sits centered, not pulled to one side.
  • Do not overtighten. The cushion should rest lightly under your nose. A tighter strap does not mean a better seal.
  • Set your machine's mask type to "Pillows" even though this is a cradle mask. It's what ResMed specifies for the N30i.
  • Use a CPAP-safe moisturizer if the cushion leaves marks or your skin feels dry.
  • Wipe the cushion daily with warm water and a mild CPAP soap to clear away facial oils and keep the seal reliable.
  • Keep CPAP wipes on hand for a fast clean when you're traveling or short on time.
  • Check the frame and elbow weekly for cracks or stiffness, and swap in a new frame system if parts feel worn.
  • If you get leaks, adjust the headgear and reposition the cushion first before assuming you need a different size.
  • Traveling with an AirMini? The N30i isn't its mask. Pair the AirMini with the AirFit N30 instead.
  • Curious how the cushion compares to fabric? Our AirTouch vs. AirFit guide covers when to switch.
  • Still getting leaks after adjusting fit? Our mask leak troubleshooting guide walks through common fixes.

Everything you need to know about the AirFit N30i

Sleep in Any Position

The tube connects at the top of your head instead of your chin, so it stays clear whether you sleep on your side, your stomach, or curled up close to your partner. Less hose in your face means less tangling and fewer middle-of-the-night adjustments.

See Clearly, Day or Night

The open design under your nose keeps your line of sight clear, so you can read, watch TV, or wear glasses in bed. There's nothing covering your eyes or blocking your view.

Find Your Fit at Home

This starter pack includes multiple cushion sizes and a frame, so you can try different combinations until the seal feels right. No more guessing your size from a chart before you buy.

Barely-There Cushion

The soft silicone cushion rests gently under your nose instead of sealing inside your nostrils. It's a good next step if nasal pillow masks have ever felt too intense.

Frame That Moves With You

The flexible SpringFit frame stretches and bends as you shift at night, so it keeps its seal through position changes instead of losing contact and leaking.

Quiet Enough to Forget About

The vent is built into the cushion and designed to run quiet, so it's less likely to disturb you or a bed partner through the night.

Get Up Without Taking It Off

The elbow disconnects from the tubing with a quick pinch, so you can step away from bed without removing the whole mask. It stays clipped to your tubing so you won't lose it.

Two Frames, Four Cushions

Choose from Small or Standard frames and four cushion sizes to dial in your fit. Men typically start with a Standard frame and women with Small, but comfort should guide the final choice.

One Strap, Simple Adjustment

The headgear adjusts from a single strap at the back of your head, so getting a snug, even fit doesn't take fiddling with multiple straps.

Magnet-Free and Latex-Free

This mask uses no magnets and is not made with natural rubber latex, so it's a straightforward option if you'd rather avoid either material.

FSA/HSA Eligible

You can use FSA or HSA funds toward this mask, which helps offset the cost of trying a new interface.

Set Your Machine to "Pillows"

Even though this is a cradle mask, ResMed AirSense, AirCurve, and S9 machines use the "Pillows" mask setting for the N30i. Setting the wrong mask type can throw off your data.

Not the AirMini's Mask

This tube-up N30i isn't the mask ResMed pairs with the AirMini. If you're setting up a travel machine, the front-tube AirFit N30 is the one built for it.

FAQs

What's included in the AirFit N30i starter pack?

You get a frame, headgear, a quick-release elbow, and Small, Medium, and Small Wide cushions so you can test sizes and find your fit. The Wide cushion is not included in this pack. The hose and CPAP machine are sold separately.

Do I need a prescription for this mask?

Yes. A prescription is required for CPAP and BiPAP mask interfaces.

Is the AirFit N30i FSA/HSA eligible?

Yes. You can use FSA or HSA funds toward this mask.

How is the AirFit N30i different from the AirFit N30?

The N30i connects at the top of your head and uses a flexible frame that stretches around your face. The N30 (no "i") connects at the bottom with a standard elbow and a frame that rests against your cheeks. They're separate mask systems with separate parts.

What's the difference between the AirFit N30i and the AirTouch N30i?

The frame and headgear are the same. The cushion is what changes: the AirFit N30i uses a plain silicone cushion, while the AirTouch N30i uses a ComfiSoft cushion made of soft fabric fused with silicone. Neither is memory foam.

Is the AirFit N30i compatible with the AirMini?

Not natively. ResMed's official AirMini setup packs are built for the AirFit N30, not the N30i. If you're setting up an AirMini, the AirFit N30 is the mask made for it.

How do I know which cushion size to pick?

Try the sizes included in the starter pack against your face before committing. The cushion should sit lightly under your nose without gaps or pressure. If none of the sizes in this pack feel right, the Wide cushion is available separately.

Can I sleep on my side or stomach with the AirFit N30i?

Yes. The top-of-the-head tube connection is designed to stay out of the way in any sleep position, including side and stomach sleeping.

Can I wear glasses or watch TV with this mask on?

Yes. The under-nose cushion keeps your line of sight open, so glasses, reading, and watching TV are not blocked by the mask.

Does the AirFit N30i use magnets?

No. This mask is magnet-free.

How often should I replace the cushion?

Most people replace the silicone cushion every 2 to 3 months, depending on how it holds up with daily cleaning and use.

How do I clean the AirFit N30i?

Wipe the cushion daily with warm water and a mild soap, and clean the frame and headgear weekly. The QuietAir vent is removable, so you can rinse it separately when needed.

Which machine setting should I use for this mask?

Set your ResMed AirSense, AirCurve, or S9 machine to the "Pillows" mask setting. This applies even though the N30i is a cradle mask, not a pillow mask.

Is the AirFit N30i good for mouth breathers?

Nasal masks like the N30i work best if you breathe through your nose during sleep. If you tend to breathe through your mouth, you may need a chin strap alongside it or a full-face mask instead.
