Overview

The Sunset adult nasal cannula delivers low-flow supplemental oxygen through curved nasal prongs and a 7 foot supply tube. It is built for everyday home oxygen therapy and works as a replacement cannula for a standard oxygen concentrator running 1 to 6 liters per minute.

The prongs are curved for added comfort, and the supply tube uses 6-channel kink-resistant safety tubing, so oxygen keeps flowing even if the line is bent or laid under a blanket. The material is soft, lightweight, and memory-free, which helps it stay comfortable over long wear.

Choose the Regular version or the Soft version. The Soft cannula uses an extra-soft material that further reduces the pressure and friction on your skin, which can help with sensitive skin or long daily wear.

This is a low-flow cannula for 1 to 6 LPM. It is not a high-flow cannula. If your concentrator runs 6 to 15 LPM, choose a high-flow cannula instead. You can see compatible equipment in our home concentrators and portable concentrators collections.

Guide and Resources

Important Tips

  • Position the prongs so they curve downward into your nostrils, then bring the tubing over each ear and adjust it under your chin for a fit that feels secure but not tight.
  • Connect the cannula to your oxygen source. You can see compatible units in our Oxygen Therapy collection.
  • This cannula is for 1 to 6 LPM. It is not a high-flow cannula, so do not use it in place of a 6 to 15 LPM high-flow cannula.
  • Replace the cannula regularly. There is no fixed schedule from Sunset, but many users change a disposable cannula every 2 to 4 weeks, or sooner if the prongs stiffen, discolor, or the tubing looks soiled. Follow your provider's guidance.
  • If your nose or throat feels dry during oxygen therapy, adding a humidifier bottle to your concentrator can help add moisture.
  • Route the tubing away from wheels, feet, and door hinges. The 6-channel tubing resists kinks, but good routing still helps prevent blockages.

FAQs

Do I need a prescription to buy this nasal cannula?

No. A standard nasal cannula is an oxygen-therapy supply and is not prescription-gated at Sleeplay. Your oxygen and flow settings are prescribed by your provider, but the cannula itself is sold as a replacement accessory.

What is included?

One adult nasal cannula with curved prongs and a 7 foot supply tube. You choose the Soft or Regular version at checkout.

What is the difference between the Soft and Regular versions?

The Regular version uses curved nasal prongs with soft, memory-free material. The Soft version is built from an extra-soft material that further reduces pressure and friction on the skin, which can help with sensitive skin or long daily wear.

Is this a high-flow cannula?

No. This is a low-flow cannula for 1 to 6 LPM. If your oxygen concentrator runs 6 to 15 LPM, you need a high-flow cannula instead.

Will it fit my oxygen concentrator?

In most cases, yes. It connects to the standard oxygen outlet found on most home and portable concentrators that run at 1 to 6 LPM.

Should the prongs point up or down?

Down. Position the curved prongs so they follow the natural curve of your nostrils pointing slightly downward, then loop the tubing over your ears.

How often should I replace it?

There is no fixed schedule from Sunset. As a general guide, many users replace a disposable cannula every 2 to 4 weeks, or sooner if the prongs stiffen, discolor, or the tubing looks soiled. Follow your provider's recommendation.

Why does the tubing have 6 channels?

The 6-channel safety tubing helps keep the oxygen path open if the line is bent or pinned, so flow is less likely to be cut off by a kink.

How long is the supply tube?

The supply tube is 7 feet, which gives you room to move around near your oxygen source.
