• Initial Fitting: When setting up your ResMed AirFit F40 mask for the first time, ensure the headgear is adjusted to fit snugly but not too tight. The UltraCompact design should sit comfortably on your face without causing discomfort.
• Adjusting the Headgear: Use the two upper and two lower adjustment points to customize the fit. Make minor adjustments while lying down to ensure a secure seal in your natural sleeping position.

Maintaining Seal and Comfort

• Regular Cushion Check: Check the silicone cushion with AdaptiSeal technology regularly for wear and tear. Replace the cushion every 3-6 months to maintain optimal comfort and seal.
• Avoid Overtightening: Ensure the mask is secure but not overtightened. Over-tightening can cause discomfort and pressure marks on your face. The mask is designed to provide a secure seal with minimal pressure.

Cleaning and Hygiene

• Daily Cleaning: Clean the mask and cushion daily with mild soap and warm water. Avoid using harsh chemicals that can degrade the materials. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry completely before the next use.
• Weekly Cleaning of Tubing: The ClimateLineAir heated tube should be cleaned weekly. Disconnect it from the CPAP machine, rinse it with warm water, and let it air dry to prevent the buildup of bacteria and mold.

Filter Maintenance

• Regular Filter Replacement: Replace the AirSense 10 filters every 1-2 months or sooner if you notice any discoloration or clogging. Clean filters ensure optimal air quality and machine performance. We’ve conveniently added 2 filters to this bundle.
• Inspect Filters Weekly: Check the filters weekly for any signs of dirt or debris. Replace immediately if they appear dirty to maintain effective filtration.

Optimizing Heated Tube Use

• Temperature Control: Adjust the ClimateLineAir tube to your preferred temperature setting between 60 and 86 degrees Fahrenheit. This helps prevent dryness and enhances comfort during therapy.
• Avoid Kinks: Ensure the heated tube is free from kinks or bends during use. This allows for consistent airflow and prevents interruptions in therapy.

Troubleshooting Tips

• Monitor for Leaks: If you notice air leaks, readjust the mask and headgear. If leaks persist, check the cushion for wear and replace if necessary.
• Stay Hydrated: If you experience dryness despite using the heated tube, ensure you stay hydrated and consider adjusting the humidity settings on your CPAP machine.
