Overview

The MedCline Anti Acid Reflux Body Pillow System is a three-part sleep setup designed to keep your torso elevated and your body positioned on your left side—an angle shown to reduce nighttime acid reflux. It includes an inclined wedge, a body-length side-sleeping pillow, and a smaller insert pillow that work together to create stable, supported sleep.

More than just a wedge, this system is built to help you stay comfortably in place through the night, so you’re not sliding down or stacking pillows that shift. With a dedicated space for your arm, it relieves pressure on the shoulder while keeping your alignment intact.

Available in three sizes based on your height, the setup takes up about half a queen bed and is easy to adjust to. The foam layers mold to your shape over time, and all cases can be removed and washed. It’s a natural approach to managing reflux symptoms like heartburn or regurgitation, designed to help you sleep through the night with fewer disruptions.

Clinically Supported Sleep Position

This system is designed to support the doctor-recommended left-side sleeping posture with a 15–20° incline, which helps reduce acid reflux symptoms during the night. The position elevates the torso—not just the head—allowing gravity to keep stomach acid from flowing upward while sleeping.

Three-Part System for Full-Body Support

The setup includes an inclined wedge, a therapeutic body pillow, and a small insert pillow. Together, they help create a stable position that minimizes movement and keeps the body comfortably aligned throughout the night, even when switching sides.

Helps with Multiple Forms of Reflux

It has shown clinical effectiveness not only for common GERD symptoms, but also for laryngopharyngeal reflux (silent reflux) and reflux that occurs during pregnancy. The sleep position reduces pressure on the stomach and throat, offering a practical, non-medicated alternative.

Patented Arm Pocket for Pressure Relief

The wedge features a built-in arm pocket that allows the downside arm to rest without bearing the body’s weight. This detail makes it easier to stay in the side-sleeping position for longer periods without numbness, shoulder pressure, or discomfort.

Foam Construction Prioritizes Comfort and Cooling

The system uses CertiPUR-US® certified foam, including gel-infused layers that help maintain a neutral temperature. The different foam densities are placed strategically to support the torso, head, and hips while avoiding overheating.

Removable and Washable Covers Included

Each piece arrives with a soft, removable fabric cover already installed. These covers are machine-washable, which helps maintain hygiene over time without needing to purchase separate protectors.

Designed to Prevent Sliding and Stacking

Unlike traditional wedges that may slide down the bed or require multiple pillows stacked on top, this integrated design holds its position throughout the night. The components fit together in a way that creates a stable platform for the entire upper body.

Size Options Based on Height

The system comes in three size variants—Small, Medium, and Large—based on height ranges to ensure the incline supports the right part of the body. Choosing the correct size helps maintain alignment from shoulders to hips, improving comfort and effectiveness.

Takes Up Half a Queen-Sized Bed

The footprint is designed to occupy half of a queen-sized mattress, so there’s still space for a partner on the other side. This makes it easier to share a bed without compromising sleep position or support.

Foam Break-In Period Expected

The foam components may feel firmer at first. They typically take about 30 nights to conform to body contours. During this time, the body gradually adjusts to the new posture, and the materials soften slightly with repeated use.

Setup After Delivery Is Straightforward

The system ships compressed. After unpacking, the pillows need to be fluffed and aired out to regain their full shape. Although it can be used right away, it may take a few days for the foam to fully expand and for any initial scent to dissipate.

Sleep Support Available After Purchase

If any adjustments are needed, MedCline offers direct access to Sleep Specialists. They can provide guidance on comfort tips, help refine positioning, and make sure the selected size and setup work well in daily use.

Important Tips

  • Select the right size based on your height for the system to work effectively—small, medium, or large.
  • Sleep on your left side for maximum reflux relief, as this position reduces acid exposure most effectively.
  • Let all foam components fully expand after unboxing; give it at least 72 hours for any scent to fade.
  • Fluff the body pillow and insert pillow vigorously to help regain their shape.
  • Give the system about 30 nights to break in and adjust to your body for the best comfort.
  • Use the patented arm pocket to relieve shoulder pressure and keep your arm in a natural, supported position.
  • Position the body pillow between your knees to align your hips and reduce lower back strain.
  • Make sure the wedge is placed on a firm, flat surface to maintain the correct incline angle.
  • Wash the included removable covers weekly to keep the system clean and comfortable.
  • Avoid using extra pillows that could interfere with the alignment and effectiveness of the incline.
  • Store the system in a dry, ventilated area when not in use to maintain foam quality.
  • Don't force the system into a small bed—ideally, use it on a queen-sized mattress or larger.
  • If you're adjusting to the new position, give your body time—it may take a few nights to get used to the incline.
  • Reach out to MedCline's Sleep Specialist team if you need help getting comfortable or adjusting the setup.
  • Use the body pillow either in front of or behind you, depending on which feels more supportive for your sleep style.
  • Keep the body pillow's shape by fluffing it daily, especially after the first few uses.
  • Use the full system as designed—wedge, insert pillow, and body pillow—for the best results.
  • Make sure the wedge supports your torso, not just your head, to keep acid down and away from your throat.
  • Don’t skip the insert pillow—it helps fine-tune the incline and improves support.
  • Keep all foam components dry—avoid spilling liquids to maintain durability and hygiene.
