Overview

The MedCline Shoulder Relief System is a three-piece pillow setup made to ease pressure on your shoulder while you sleep. It includes an inclined wedge, a full-length body pillow, and a smaller insert that support your body in a stable side-sleeping position without stressing your shoulder or arm.

It’s designed with a built-in arm pocket that lets your downside arm rest comfortably, helping to prevent numbness or pain. You can sleep on either side, adjust your arm freely, and stay supported through the night without stacking pillows or waking up sore.

The wedge lifts your upper body slightly—just enough to reduce pressure on your shoulder joint. The gel-infused foam keeps things cool, and the washable covers make cleaning easy.

Available in two sizes based on your height, this system is a simple way to improve sleep if shoulder pain has been keeping you up.

Patented Arm Pocket to Reduce Shoulder Pressure

The wedge includes a built-in pocket that lets the downside arm rest without bearing the weight of the body. This reduces compression on the shoulder and helps prevent numbness or tingling, which is especially helpful when shoulder pain is linked to nerve impingement or rotator cuff injuries.

10° Upper Body Elevation for Comfortable Side Sleeping

The wedge raises the torso at a gentle incline of about 10°, which helps relieve pressure on the shoulder and upper spine. The angle supports a more neutral position for the upper body, making it easier to stay on your side throughout the night without rolling or slouching.

Symmetrical Setup for Left or Right Side Sleeping

The design allows the same level of support whether sleeping on the left or right side. The arm pocket is centered at the top of the wedge, so there’s no need to flip or reposition the system depending on the preferred sleeping side.

Three-Piece Structure for Full-Body Support

This system combines a shoulder wedge, a small insert pillow, and a full-length therapeutic body pillow. The combination helps reduce twisting in the spine and encourages better alignment across the shoulders, hips, and knees. The body pillow also adds gentle resistance to keep you comfortably positioned.

Flexible Arm Positioning

The arm can be placed either straight down beside the body or tucked beneath the body pillow, depending on what feels more natural. The system gives enough space and cushion to adjust arm placement without causing strain or cutting off circulation.

CertiPUR-US® Gel-Infused Foam Layers

Each component is made from certified, non-toxic foam that includes cooling gel particles. The foam is layered to provide different levels of firmness across the body, supporting areas that need more lift while allowing softer zones for comfort. The gel infusion helps reduce heat buildup overnight.

Sized for Better Fit Based on Height

Two size options are available—Small/Medium and Large—to better match body proportions. Choosing the correct size helps ensure the shoulder is supported without overextending the neck or pushing the head too high.

Takes Up Half of a Queen Mattress

The layout is designed to stay on one side of a standard queen bed. This makes it practical for shared sleeping environments while still offering enough space for a full side-sleeping setup.

Removable and Washable Fabric Covers

Each part of the system comes with a soft cover already installed. The fabric can be removed and machine-washed, which makes long-term care and hygiene much easier.

Break-In Period for Foam Adjustment

The foam will soften slightly with use, usually over the course of 30 nights. During this time, it gradually adapts to the weight and contours of the body, making the support feel more natural over time. This adjustment period is expected and part of the normal setup process.

Simple Setup After Unboxing

All pieces arrive compressed and wrapped for shipping. After unboxing, the pillows and wedge should be fluffed and aired out to regain their full shape. Any mild scent from the foam typically fades within a few days.

Optional Guidance for Adjustment

MedCline offers access to sleep specialists who can provide advice on how to get the most from the system. If you’re unsure how to position the components or want to refine your setup based on shoulder injury type, this support is available by appointment.

Important Tips

  • Choose the correct size—small/medium or large—based on your height for proper alignment and support.
  • Sleep on either your left or right side using the symmetrical design without needing to reposition the system.
  • Use the patented arm pocket to relieve pressure on your downside shoulder and prevent your arm from falling asleep.
  • Fluff all pillows after unboxing and allow 72 hours for the foam to fully expand and off-gas.
  • Give yourself at least 30 nights to adjust to the new sleeping position and allow the foam to conform to your body.
  • Use the full system—wedge, body pillow, and insert—for proper elevation and pressure relief.
  • Keep your arm in a natural, relaxed position inside the arm pocket or resting along the bed or body pillow.
  • Position the long body pillow limb either in front of or behind you, based on what feels more supportive.
  • Avoid using extra pillows that may interfere with the elevation or alignment provided by the system.
  • Always use the system on a firm, flat mattress surface to maintain the proper 10° angle of incline.
  • Wash the removable covers weekly to keep the system clean and comfortable for daily use.
  • Store in a dry, well-ventilated area to maintain the integrity of the gel-infused foam.
  • The incline supports your torso, not just your head, to relieve shoulder pain without straining your neck.
  • Refluff the pillows regularly, especially the body pillow, to maintain consistent support.
  • If you're unsure how to get the most comfort from your setup, reach out to MedCline's Sleep Specialist team for guidance.
  • Be patient—improvement in shoulder pain may come gradually as your body adjusts to the new posture.
  • Don't force your arm into an unnatural position—let it rest freely in the pocket or beside the body pillow.
  • Avoid using this system if you have lower back or hip issues, as the incline isn't suited for those conditions.
  • Use this pillow system consistently to prevent shoulder pain from worsening overnight.
  • The wedge and pillow together take up about half a queen-sized bed—be sure to allow enough room for full use.
